John Cermak | Founder | President

Hi, I'm John Cermak and I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2012. I am currently a Senior at Miami University and I'm 22 years old. I love mountain climbing and showing others that diabetes can’t slow me down!

Tim Cermak | Co-founder | Social Media       Manager

During my freshman year of highschool I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, but it hasn’t stopped me from living the adventurous life. Currently I am a sophomore at the University of Dayton studying Mechanical Engineering. I am passionate about living life to the fullest. I want to share what living with type one diabetes is like and inspire everyone to live a good life, regardless of how their pancreas functions.

Joseph Cermak | Team Member | Board SECRETARY

I am John and Tim's older brother and I see the challenges that my younger brothers face when it comes to dealing with type 1 diabetes. When I was ten years old, I read an article about highpointing and decided I also wanted to climb the highest point in every state. I have been a high pointer ever since then and I currently have summited 39 of the state high points.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved everything outdoors related. When I was in college I started mountain climbing. I have spread my passion for outdoor adventure to my kids, who have created this charity. I want to help find a cure for diabetes because I have seen how it has changed my son's lives and I hope to help them continue to inspire others with their story.

My name is Agnes Prosser and I've had type 1 for 11 years. I want to help spread a greater understanding of type 1 diabetes and provide a resource for diabetics like myself to learn about diabetes and educate others about it in a fun and interesting way.

I'm Jerry Rachfal, a retired Xerox Corporation Executive who is the grandfather of "The Cermak Brothers".   I hope to use my experiences to support their efforts in conquering Type 1 Diabetes by their mountain climbing fund raising project.  In addition to more then 30 years at Xerox I served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, am actively involved with Flower City Habitat for Humanity as well as the Pittsford, NY Food Cupboard and Saints Place, a refugee resettlement program.

Pam Cermak | Board of Directors Treasurer

I'm Pam Cermak and I became a diabetes advocate when two of my sons were diagnosed in 2012 and 2015. I want to make diabetes easier and help to find a cure because I see the day to day struggles that they face. I think it is important for parents of diabetics to have a resource to show their children what is possible and to know that being diagnosed is not the end of the world.
